  • On May 1, over 1800 people from 20 churches gathered for the final rally of our campaign for the environment. Over the past couple of months, Micah Scholars have been leading Bible studies and workshops to mobilize these congregations to care for God’s creation, with specific emphasis on urban issues such as water & sanitation, waste, recycling, and responsible consumerism.

  • The Children's Academy became the first primary school to be listed on WorldBlu's list of freedom centered workplaces. It also won 3 of the 10 awards for organizational practices: purpose and vision, accountability, and dialogue and listening. In addition, Haiti Partners made the list for the 7th straight year!

  • Co-director Kent Annan’s new book, Slow Kingdom Coming debuted on May 12! A large crowd came out for the launch party in Vero Beach that evening and Kent spent four days in the Toronto area speaking on the new book. You can invite Kent to speak and see his current engagements on his website.

  • Permaculture training is underway for parents and in the process of being integrated into the curriculum at the Children's Academy. It will first be done on school grounds in a model garden before being implemented in several strategic geographical locations in the community for parents to replicate.

  • On May 6 co-director John Engle celebrated his 25th anniversary in Haiti! When John first moved to Haiti he was responding to a call he heard on his life, a big change from working in business in Chicago! He thought it would last two years but twenty-five years later, John continues to live in Haiti working tirelessly to help Haitians change their country.
