Good News from Zambia

One of the many benefits of our program model being led by indigenous leaders is that their important work can continue even during uncertain times such as these, because they don’t require our physical presence at any of the program sites. However, we recognize that our partners are also affected by this outbreak, and will continue to pray for them, care for them, reach out to them, and add velocity to their work.

In the meantime, we have a great story to share from our partners in Zambia. Sheila was one of the students in the first round of classes we offered. After studying Counselling Skills, she was able to get employment and now teaches Palliative Care. Not only does she teach the class, she also translates the materials and works with small groups through their first year of learning. Sheila also educates the community and rural areas about HIV/AIDS.

Sheila is a single woman supporting herself and bringing healing to her community. She was recently able to buy property and build a home. Join us as we congratulate her and celebrate with her!
